Downtown Louisville Engagement Session at Hotel Genevieve — Sidney and Cal

There is something undeniably electric about downtown Louisville in the fall! The air gets crisp, the city lights feel a little warmer, and—if I’m lucky—I get to spend the afternoon capturing a love story as effortless and radiant as Sidney and Cal’s.

Last November, we headed to Hotel Genevieve, which is basically a playground for someone who loves color and style as much as I do! From the bold, retro-chic lobby to the panoramic views from the rooftop, this session was a total masterclass in urban romance.

We kicked things off by leaning into the hotel’s vibrant, eclectic interior. Sidney and Cal have this natural, "we’ve-been-best-friends-forever" chemistry that makes my job way too easy! We spent the first half of the session laughing our way through the lobby and then bopping around the streets of downtown Louisville to capture those classic city-cool vibes.

After a quick outfit change, we headed up to the rooftop bar. If you haven't been to the top of Genevieve, you are missing out! The design is absolutely stunning, and it was the perfect backdrop for those intimate, classic indoor bar shots. As soon as we were wrapping things up, it started pouring rain! Perfect timing, am I right?

Why I’m Obsessed with Engagement Sessions:

Meeting Sidney and Cal in person was the absolute highlight of my month! Getting to know my couples—hearing your "how we met" stories and seeing how you make each other laugh—is why I do what I do.

Sidney and Cal are officially counting down to their October 2026 wedding at The Jefferson in Louisville, and if their engagement session was any indication, that celebration is going to be one for the history books! I am already counting down the days until I get to see these two walk down the aisle.
