Romantic & Joyful Cincinnati Nature Center Engagement Session — Beka and Chuka

Some sessions just feel easy in the best way, and that was exactly how Beka and Chuka’s engagement session felt from the very beginning.

We met at the Cincinnati Nature Center on a quiet early March afternoon, and right away I could tell this session was going to be so much fun. It was actually Beka and Chuka’s first time having professional photos taken together, which is something I hear from couples all the time! It can feel a little nerve wracking at first. But within minutes they were laughing, walking hand in hand, and completely settling into the moment.

That is always my favorite thing to watch happen during an engagement session - when couples realize they do not have to perform or pose perfectly, they can just be themselves together.

The Cincinnati Nature Center is one of my favorite places for engagement sessions around Cincinnati because it feels so peaceful and tucked away in nature. Even though we took their photos in early March before the trees had fully come back to life, the trails and soft light still created the most beautiful setting for their photos.

One thing I loved about this session was how effortlessly Beka and Chuka trusted the process. Even though it was their first time in front of the camera, they fully leaned into the experience and just enjoyed being together. That is when the magic always happens! Sessions like this remind me that beautiful photos are not about perfect locations or perfectly timed seasons. They are about connection, joy, and the story two people share.

I left this session feeling so excited for what is ahead for these two. I truly cannot wait to photograph Beka and Chuka’s wedding this June! If their engagement session is any hint of what their wedding day will be like, it is going to be such a joyful celebration. Take a peek into their engagement photos!
